Croteam and Devolver Digital pull back the curtain on the Anomaly, with dozens of new worlds and puzzle systems to wrap up the philosophical series.

Croteam and Devolver Digital have revealed the first gameplay of The Talos Principle 3, the grand finale of their philosophical puzzle trilogy. The footage debuted during the Triple-I Initiative showcase on October 8, and the game is coming in 2027 to PC (Steam) and PlayStation 5. No release date or price has been announced yet.

Welcome Back to the Anomaly

The story drops you into the Anomaly, described as the only place in the universe where the laws of physics don’t work as they should. You wake up in a strange, contradictory world of crumbling temples and abandoned science outposts, with fragmented memories but a clear sense that you came here for a reason. As you solve increasingly complex puzzles, you’ll relive your life as an explorer and, with it, the history of the world humanity built. Some say the Anomaly is Heaven, some say it’s Hell, and all that’s certain is that judgement awaits.

What the Gameplay Shows

The trailer is a first look at a few of the game’s new worlds and mechanics. Croteam says you’ll travel to dozens of new worlds, each with its own stories, puzzles and characters.

  • Varied environments: Reports from the footage mention floating block islands, ring-shaped worlds and giant mushroom landscapes.
  • New puzzle systems: Some blocks can defy gravity when powered up, among other quirks.
  • A flexible difficulty curve: The developers say you won’t need to solve every puzzle to progress through the main story, while the most intricate brain-teasers are waiting for those chasing the Anomaly’s deepest secrets.
  • A generation-spanning story: The narrative covers the history of the world humanity built.

What We Still Don’t Know

Only PC and PS5 are confirmed so far, with no Xbox Series X|S or Switch 2 version announced. There’s also no release date or price. The Steam page is live and open for wishlisting, and more details should follow as 2027 gets closer.
