What started as a personal project to recover from severe burnout has officially turned into one of the biggest indie success stories of the decade. Solo Malaysian developer O.P. Neon Games has officially transitioned TCG Card Shop Simulator out of Early Access, bringing its massive 1.0 update to PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox Game Pass, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2.
Created by developer Ding Shen Sia after hitting an exhaustion point with solo mobile game development, the title was originally designed with modest goals: test Steam Trading Cards integration and offer players the satisfaction of opening endless virtual card packs without breaking the bank. The project unexpectedly went viral, selling 100,000 copies within its first three days and quickly building a passionate community around its detailed shop management mechanics.
By the time Early Access concluded, the title had already surpassed 3.5 million sales and reached more than 4 million players across Steam and Xbox Game Preview. Holding an Overwhelmingly Positive rating above 95% on Steam, the game has solidified its place as a definitive benchmark in the shop management genre.
The 1.0 full release marks a major evolution for the title by introducing the fully playable Tetramon TCG. For the first time, players are no longer limited to pricing products, stocking shelves, hiring staff, and hosting local tournaments for non-playable characters. Shop owners can now open their own card packs, build custom competitive decks, and sit down to battle directly inside their own store, turning their establishment into an active gaming hub.
Despite reaching its full release milestone across all current-generation consoles and handhelds, O.P. Neon Games confirmed that active development will continue. Players can expect ongoing performance improvements, bug fixes, and future content updates as the game expands its footprint across PC and console ecosystems.
