After more than a year in Early Access, the survival horror RPG launches on Steam and GOG with a new chapter, more puzzles and a boss fight.

If you’ve been waiting for the finished version of Stygian: Outer Gods, the wait is over. The Lovecraftian survival horror RPG from Misterial Games and Fulqrum Publishing left Early Access today and is now available on PC through Steam and GOG for $24.99, with a 20% launch discount. It has been playable in Early Access since April 14, 2025, so this release is the one that finally gives the story an ending.

The game takes place in the universe of Stygian: Reign of the Old Ones, before the events of the Black Day. You play as Jack Harrison, who goes looking for his missing father and ends up in Kingsport, a port town that was once busy and is now falling apart under a thick fog. A shipwreck leaves him stranded there, and it doesn’t take long to realize the town hides much more than abandoned buildings.

Surviving Kingsport

Kingsport is a mix of crumbling streets, a secluded family mansion, deserted mines and misty forests, with some places that don’t seem to belong to our world at all. Supplies are limited, so you scavenge what you can and craft tools and remedies to keep going. It’s not only your body that is at risk: your sanity matters too, and psychological afflictions can change the way you play. Character progression gives you different ways to develop Jack, and the choices you make along the way lead down branching paths with real consequences.

🎧 In a Lovecraftian town, sound is half the fear. A pair of comfortable gaming headphones helps you hear what is lurking in the fog.

What the 1.0 Release Brings

The full release brings the story to its conclusion and adds everything that was introduced after Early Access began: a new chapter, extra puzzles, more artifacts and weapons, and new enemies, including a big boss encounter. If you tried the game early and left because the story wasn’t finished, this is the version to come back to. Brazilian Portuguese is also among the languages on the Steam page, which is good news for local players.

Extras and Platforms

You can buy two extras separately: the Official Digital Artbook, with almost 200 pages of artwork from the game’s world, and The Heretic’s Arsenal Pack, which adds an artifact and two melee weapons. PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions have been reported as planned, but there is no date yet.

🖥️ Dark horror games need deep blacks. This OLED monitor delivers true blacks and strong contrast, bringing Kingsport’s fog, shadows, and dark corners to life.

You can find the game on Steam and GOG.
