The Siege of Castle Doom adds a run-based mode, two new playable characters and a race against a rising Siege Gauge.
Dotemu and Tribute Games have revealed the new game mode for MARVEL Cosmic Invasion: The Siege of Castle Doom, the next premium DLC for the tag-team co-op beat ’em up. It arrives on November 10 for Steam, Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, PS4, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and a new gameplay trailer shows the challenge of the mode.
A Run Through Doom’s Fortress

Doctor Doom’s latest plan could mean the end of the galaxy, unless you stop his newest invention. In the run-based Castle Doom mode, you have to break through the defenses of Victor von Doom’s fortress before he can activate the Cosmic Inductor, a flawed weapon built to stop Annihilus that is destined to destroy the cosmos as we know it.
Every fight you survive charges the Stabilizer, a device built by Reed Richards to counter Doom’s plan. Along the way, you collect battery cells and complete challenges to earn defense, damage or tactical upgrades from a pool of twelve perks. You choose your path through the castle’s winding routes and pick your buffs carefully to tune your fighters. But failed challenges weaken your heroes, and Doom prepared traps for your arrival.
🎮 Need the base game first? MARVEL Cosmic Invasion is required to play the DLC, and it’s a good moment to jump in before November 10.
Beat the Siege Gauge

The tension comes from the Siege Gauge. You have to find Victor von Doom before it fills, because the fuller it gets, the stronger the castle’s forces become. If the gauge fills before the showdown, your run ends immediately. Doom Bots have also teamed up with bosses from the main game who have a score to settle with you.
Successful runs unlock new equipment and events from Reed’s Lab for good, along with modifiers that raise both the difficulty and the potential rewards of future attempts.
Two New Heroes and a Few Extras

The DLC also brings Susan Storm of the Fantastic Four and Doctor Doom himself as playable characters for the first time. If you defeat Doom, you unlock new color palettes for all playable heroes. The expansion continues the game’s tribute to the golden age of Marvel, and it comes with original music from composer Tee Lopes.
For those who haven’t played, the base game sends heroes against Annihilus’ attack on the galaxy, with 17 playable characters and a Cosmic Swap system that lets you switch between duos mid-fight. Dotemu and Tribute Games previously worked together on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, and the pixel-art style captures the spirit of classic Marvel character designs.
🕹️ Co-op is better with a second pad. An extra wireless controller makes it easy to team up for a run through Doom’s castle.
