Mega Mewtwo X & Y Debuts in Super Mega Raids
The highlight of the event is the long-awaited arrival of Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Mewtwo Y in Super Mega Raids.
- Saturday, September 5: Mega Mewtwo X takes over Super Mega Raids.
- Sunday, September 6: Mega Mewtwo Y takes center stage.
Both forms will feature exclusive Mega Evolution Special Backgrounds upon capture.

Choose Your Kalos Starter: Branching Timed Research & GO Pass
Trainers can access a special Timed Research story allowing them to select one of the three Kalos partner Pokémon: Chespin, Fennekin, or Froakie.
Your choice dictates your rewards throughout the GO Pass: Mega Finale, including avatar items and Mega Energy:
- Chespin Path: Unlocks the Chesnaught T-Shirt avatar item and enough Mega Energy to Mega Evolve into Mega Chesnaught (Grass/Fighting).
- Fennekin Path: Unlocks the Delphox T-Shirt avatar item and enough Mega Energy to Mega Evolve into Mega Delphox (Fire/Psychic).
- Froakie Path: Unlocks the Greninja T-Shirt avatar item and enough Mega Energy to Mega Evolve into Mega Greninja (Water/Dark).
Note: Upgrading to the GO Pass Deluxe grants additional Mega Energy to raise the Mega Level of your chosen partner faster.
Dynamic Special Background Effects
Pokémon caught in Mega Raids during both the Mega Ascension lead-up event and the Mega Finale main weekend have a chance to feature a Mega Evolution-themed Special Background.
When you Mega Evolve a Pokémon that possesses this specific background, it activates enhanced visual effects for the entire duration of its Mega Evolution.
Habitat Rotation & Raid Schedule
Eight rotating habitats will spawn wild Pokémon and dictate non-Mewtwo Mega Raid bosses throughout the weekend. Four habitats will cycle each day, appearing twice per day.
