Blizzard has officially unveiled World of Warcraft: Forever at BlizzCon 2026. It is the long-awaited “WoW Classic Plus” experience designed to run parallel to Retail and standard Classic.

The core pitch takes players straight back to 2004 Azeroth with horizontal progression, capping out at level 60 while expanding the classic world with completely new content.

Core Features and New Content

  • Massive World Expansion: Over 1,000 brand-new quests, 3 giant unexplored zones, 9 extra dungeons, and 2 exclusive 10-player raids.
  • Timeline Shift: Set immediately after Warcraft III Reforged: Forsaken Kingdom and right before the original Molten Core raid.
  • New Race & Class Combos: Playable Skyborne Elves enter the fray alongside unconventional class choices like Renegade Paladins, Dwarf Shamans, and Orc Mages.
  • Modern Accessibility: Upgraded visuals, lower system requirements for older PCs, and native Xbox controller support out of the box.

Key Dates and Launch Schedule

  • Closed Beta: Starts September 17, 2026, running through October 21.
  • Official Launch: Releases worldwide on November 4, 2026.

How to Access the Beta (Starting Sept 17)

Prefer to skip the pre-order? Sign up for a chance to win random access:

  1. Log into your account at the official World of Warcraft: Forever site.
  2. Click the Beta Opt-In button.
  3. Monitor your registered Battle.net email for incoming invite waves.

Quick Setup Instructions

Once your account gains access:

  1. Launch the Battle.net desktop app.
  2. Head to the World of Warcraft tab.
  3. Open the Game Version drop-down menu in the bottom-left corner.
  4. Select Beta: WoW Forever and hit Install.
