Rockstar’s final trailer before launch brings together Justice, Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard on one track.
Rockstar Games has released the Grand Theft Auto VI launch trailer, and it comes with a new song: “Flower in a Hurricane,” from Justice featuring Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. The trailer arrived on October 15, runs about 90 seconds and was captured entirely in-game on PS5, just over a month before the game launches on November 19.
The Song and the Artists
“Flower in a Hurricane” is the debut of a new track from the French electronic duo Justice, who are also the original score composers for Grand Theft Auto VI. Four acts share the credit:
- Justice, the main artist and composer of the game’s original score
- Tame Impala, featured
- SZA, featured
- King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, featured
It’s the only song that plays throughout the trailer, and it’s expected to also appear on the previously announced Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, which serves as the game’s official soundtrack.
🎧 Music is a big part of how GTA sounds. A good pair of wireless headphones will do justice to this track, and to the rest of the soundtrack once the game is out.
What the Trailer Shows
The launch trailer centers on the two protagonists, Jason and Lucia, and offers another look at Vice City and the state of Leonida. It starts with Jason talking about his time in the Army before he gets a call from Lucia, which kicks off the events of the game. Along the way, it includes gunplay, helicopter scenes and explosions. Rockstar’s description says the pair have always known the deck is stacked against them, and that when an easy score goes wrong, they end up in the middle of a criminal conspiracy stretching across Leonida, forced to rely on each other more than ever.
